HOME LIFE TIPS  (EASY PROJECT)

Pending home sales tumbled in August, falling 7.1% from July’s level to 71.8 as mortgage rates reached a two-decade high. This month’s Pending Home Sales Index is the lowest in the data’s history (back to 2001), except for in April 2020 at the onset of the pandemic. This drop is in line with the recent month’s new home sales (-8.7%), which are also based on contract signings.
