The best time to sell a home, according to many reports on a national and local level is in the Spring-- -specifically, during the first half of APRIL. But that doesn't tell the whole story when you consider our local market and economy and the number of available inventory. Though homes listed for sale during this window sell nearly two weeks faster than average, In today's market, you'll find an extra edge to selling just because of the lack of inventory.

1. Clear your garden of dead leaves and weeds

Flowers and other plants prefer a tidy place to grow in, so make sure you have a tidy plot of soil for them. If you have perennial plants, cut back the dead growth. Dig up around 2.5 to 3 inches of organic matter (i.e. compost, etc.) and dispose.

2. Test for Soil Acidity

Most home improvement stores and garden centers like ACE & True Value sell do it yourself soil pH tests. These tests are a valuable tool as you prepare your lawn for the summer. Harsh, long winters can cause the pH levels in your soil to become very acidic, which makes it difficult for most grasses to thrive.

3. Plan ahead for summer-flowering plants

To make sure you get beautiful, blooming plants and a colorful display in the summertime, start planting them in early spring.

Now there’s chatter about whether the Fed will be even more aggressive and do a 50 basis point increase at the next meeting. It’s also not unreasonable to think they might do a 50 basis point increase and then not do one in the fall as they’re watching the runoff of the portfolio. --- 4.5% rates are coming soon.
